What to Expect
A visit to the South Carolina Military Museum takes most guest about an hour, but you can get lost in history and loose track of time. We have two buildings that house three galleries. Our tracked vehicles and helicopters are located outside in our inviting greenspace.
Please try to arrive before 3:30pm to allow enough time to see each gallery.
Groups Welcome
Looking to make it a group experience? Guided tours are available upon request. We ask that you schedule at least two weeks in advance. Groups larger than 25 will be split into two tours.
Please note - Unfortunately, we do not have large bathrooms at our facility, only single stalls. If you have a large tour group, please consider a restroom break prior to your arrival.

Our gift shop lets you show off your military pride. Each purchase helps support programming and education. Members of our 1788 Society save 10% on all items.

SPECIAL DATES
As a unit of a State agency, the museum will be closed for the following holidays. Due to our location, the museum is also closed during USC Gamecock football home game Saturdays.
Jan. 1 - New Year's Day
Jan. 19 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Feb. 16 - Presidents Day
May 11 - Confederate Memorial Day
May 25 - National Memorial Day
July 3 - Independence Day
Sept. 7 - Labor Day
Nov. 26-27 - Thanksgiving
Dec. 24-28 - Christmas
The museum will be closed on the following days due to USC Football home games.
