The South Carolina Military History Foundation is dedicated to supporting the South Carolina Military Museum and the preservation of South Carolina’s rich military heritage. Your membership allows the Foundation to continue in its mission to celebrate and honor the service of South Carolinians, grow the Museum collection, and expand education programs for all ages. The Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and donations are 100% tax deductible.
Membership Levels
All membership levels include a recognition of the museum's website, subscription to our quarterly newsletter, and invitations to members-only workshops, special events, and receptions. A 10% discount to the museum's gift shop is also provided with a 20% discount applied to top tier members.

Board of Directors

COL Dale Ellenburg
USA (RET)
Dale Ellenburg is a 1971 graduate of Clemson University. After being released from active duty in July 1972, he attended Officer Candidate School (OCS) at the Palmetto Military Academy and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1976 in the Signal Corps. His military career involved a number of key assignments, including commander of the 2-263rd ADA Battalion and the Chief of Staff, 263d Army Air Missile Defense Command. He retired with over 35 years of service.

COL John Bozard
USA (RET)
John Bozard was born and raised in Winnsboro, SC. He graduated from Presbyterian College with a BS in Business Management. A combat veteran, his military career spanned 30 years, including command at the Battalion level. Bozard was a retail management banker with First Citizens Bank for 30 years and has spent the last 8 years as a branch manager with First Reliance Bank. He and his wife Holli have one daughter and one granddaughter and reside in Lexington, SC.

LTC Bryan Tolar
USA (RET)
Bryan Tolar holds an MBA from the University of South Carolina. He began his military career in 1991 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant after graduating from the Palmetto Military Academy in 1994. His military career involved a number of key assignments, including Detachment Commander, Alpha Company Commander, and Rear Battalion Commander in the 4-118 IN BN. Tolar deployed four times and his last duty assignment was the Inspector General for the Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC) in Anderson, SC. Tolar is employed with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and is very active in numerous veteran support organizations throughout Columbia and the Midlands.

CMSgt Isaac Carr
USAF
Chief Master Sergeant Isaac M. Carr is the fourteenth State Command Chief Master Sergeant of the South Carolina Air National Guard. He represents the highest level of enlisted leadership and is the principal enlisted advisor to The Adjutant General and Assistant Adjutant for Air. Chief Carr entered the U.S. Air Force in December 1986 and has held various leadership positions at the squadron level. Chief Carr has deployed on several occasions to Southwest Asia in support of Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. In his civilian capacity, Chief Carr is a financial advisor for a major financial planning firm in South Carolina.

COL Renita Berry
USA (RET)
A native of Bowman, SC, Renita Berry joined the South Carolina Army National Guard in 1986. Berry received her commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps through the ROTC program at the University of South Carolina. She earned a BS in Chemistry from USC and her MA in Management from Webster University. Berry served in many diverse assignments, including primary staff positions and command at the company, battalion, and brigade levels. Berry is the Director of the Forensic Services Laboratory of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and has served as a law enforcement officer for over 25 years. Berry currently resides in Bluffton, South Carolina.
