Since antiquity some form of nuclear, biological, or chemical (NBC) warfare has threatened soldiers on the battlefield and endangered civilians at home. Modern military organizations prepare for this scenario by forming groups like the 43rd Civil Support Team (43rd WMD-CST), a group of trained and certified full-time South Carolina Army and Air National Guardsmen who would assist local and federal agencies in an NBC event. Follow this slide show to learn how NBC warfare and response has evolved over hundreds of years.
